SORBAIANO RED DOC originates from the vineyard of the Sorbaiano Estate, on the hills sacred to the Etruscans in Montecatini Val di Cecina (Pisa). This is another of the marvelous Tuscan wines of the Sangiovese wine which, when combined with other varieties, finds its ideal surrounding in this area.

Some of the vineyards of the Sorbaiano Estate are situated in especially appropriate positions where wines of extremely high quality are obtained – most of all with the best vintages.
This is the case with ROSSO DELLE MINIERE, it is a wine of extremely rare quality.
The excellent Sangiovese gives ROSSO DELLE MINIERE the necessary character and strength to face the long period of refined in 225-litre barrels (12/15 months).

Velathri is our last example of barriques wine, it stay in 225lt french barrels for 12-18 months and comes from a selection in vineyards of the best grapes of Cabernet Franc.
It is a really niche product, is not produced every year because only when the vintage gives the right fruits we decide to make such a selection of Cabernet Franc.
The alcoholic fermentation is made in steel tanks and the malolactic fermentation in barriques.

The vineyard “Pian del Conte” is situated in the middle of a gently sloping hill of unusual beauty in Sorbaiano estate, the best Sangiovese clones has found here an ideal habitat, planted at the beginning of the nineties using the most sophisticated criteria of modern wine growing, in the order to obtain wines of the most elevated quality.

The farm is located in the northern part of the Tuscan Maremma, nearby Montecatini val di Cecina, an ancient medieval village perched on a hill dominating the Val di Cecina. Sorbaiano, an ancient Roman annexation and then a feud of the noble family Inghirami from Volterra, was purchased by the current owners in the mid-1950s.
The MONTESCUDAIO VIN SANTO is one of the two Tuscan wines of this category that achieved the DOC certification in 1976. It is a true jewel of the Sorbaiano Estate and is produced in a small quantities. Most of all, the Sorbaiano Estate considerably lengthens the compulsory refining period of this wine (4 years by law). It is put on the market only after five/six years of ageing in barrique. The total alcohol content is much higher than the minimum required by the production regulations (15/16 degrees, at last 14 degrees are needed).

Scent: Heavenly and intense fragrance. Its scent is reminiscent of dried fruits and wild flowers
Taste: Sweet and very pleasant, it levers a slightly bitterest after taste
