Il
MONTESCUDAIO VIN SANTO Is one of the
two Tuscan wines of this category which
has obtained the acknowledgement of
Controlled Denomination of Origin in
1976. It is a true jewel of the Sorbaiano
Estate and is produced in a small quantities.
Most of all, the Sorbaiano Estate considerably
lengthens the compulsory refining period
of this wine (4 years by law). It is
put on the market only after five years
of ageing in barrique. The total alcohol
content is much higher than the minimum
required by the production regulations
(17 degrees, at last 14 degrees are
needed) |
